Villa Panizzi

Beautiful villa in a great location. Parts of the road to the villa can be a bit tricky.
Fantastic hosts who were extremely helpful.

PROS: The villas is spacious and it was very clean. The finishes are good and have different areas to hang around.
CONS: Kitchen is small, but functional. There were some staples, but not enough. There were not enough toilet paper nor soap for the whole week, just for the first 2-3 days. You'll have to get your own. There was no detergent for the washing machine. The shower is narrow so big people will have an issue with that. They also leaked water through the door and pooled outside the shower. The pool doesn't have water temperature control, so the water was cold even that we have nice, warm days. The villa is beside the public road, but there were very few cars during the day; it wasn't a big deal. There are no good views of the valley from the terrace, but it's a nicely surrounded by trees and greenery.

Very nice villa in the vineyards of San Giminiano with excellent rooms and kitchen. The check-in and support by Emma was excellent. Thank you for a very nice holiday experience.

A fantastic property that lived up to and exceeded our expectations. I would return to this property in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to any family or group looking to base themselves in the Tuscan countryside.

It’s a really beautiful villa and in great condition. Even better than the pictures! Pool is a perfect temperature, beds are comfy and the surrounding area is stunning. Host was great and communicated well and gave us plenty of privacy. We had everything we needed. Only bit of advice for travellers is that there isn’t much choice or availability for taxis in the area unless you book well in advance (that’s no fault of the villa, to be fair). Definitely need a car to go anywhere as San Gimignano is a bit of a hike uphill on foot. Absolutely would recommend the Villa. Wish we could have stayed for longer

Peaceful and isolated this is a gorgeous place to stay with a group of friends with ample privacy.The kitchen doesn’t have any supplies (like oil and other condiments) so you do need to bring everything in if you intend to cook.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Panizzi. It feels like being out in the country yet only a little over a mile to San Gimignano straight up the road. The villa itself is beautiful, very spacious for the bedrooms and the common areas. The outside terraces are nice along with the really nice swimming pool. Walking in the area next to the house there are vineyards and a hill where you can see the town and all its towers. The area is a very good central location to visit Siena, Florence, Lucca/Pisa. This villa was a highlight of our stay in Tuscany.

The villa is in a great location and has a fantastic pool area and when asking our party if we'd return it was a 50% Yes and a 50% No.

There are some minor things which would really enhance the villa as a rental.
1. Stock the kitchen with the basics, there was no vegetable peeler, we had to go and buy one, we have left this for the next guests
2. First villa we've stayed at where there was no welcome or basics given, bread, milk, bottle of wine and the like.
3. Don't provide items which don't work, ice cube machine, this did not work and is pointless to provide.
4. No view from the terrace outside the kitchen as the bushes and trees have not been cut back, on looking at previous pictures these had been and that would have greatly improved the setting.
5. The Villa is on a working vineyard and there are people walking around the back of the villa as they undertake the harvest etc, if you want complete privacy then this place is not for you.

Well furnished and a high standard property that with some tweaks here and there would make it outstanding.

Ein wunderbarer Aufenthalt — sehr gerne jederzeit wieder. Drei Schlafzimmer (jeweils mit eigenem Badezimmer) befinden sich im ersten Stock des Haupthauses, ein Schlafzimmer plus Bad plus kleine Küche im Nebengebäude. Toller Pool mit Liegen und Sonnenschirmen, großer Waschraum.
Emma war eine großartige Gastgeberin, die stets erreichbar war und mit Tipps und Unterstützung zur Seite stand.

Très bon séjour dans cette villa spacieuse et confortable. Situation très calme au milieu des oliviers. Grande piscine dont nous avons bien profité entre deux visites de cette région merveilleuse.

Kitchen has dishwasher, oven, fridge, microwave but no salt, pepper, oil, vinegar and so on.

Rather annoying mosquitoes outside at dusk so bring repellent/cream!

Aircon kept the villa cool while it was very hot outside.

Beautiful villa! We loved the location, the space was lovely and very clean. The grounds were also so beautiful with vineyards and olive trees surrounding it! The pool was also large and surrounded by fruit trees. Our little ones loved walking around outside.

We had a lovely break at Villa Panizzi as a couple with two adult sons. A lovely, traditional villa, refurbished to modern standards and uncluttered; very clean, as described, with super private pool and plenty of options for indoor or outdoor seating and dining. We enjoyed using the large covered veranda, opening from the kitchen and staying cool on warmer days. We also sat reading, drinking and playing cards on another terrace overlooking the pool. The villa is close enough to San Gimignano for fitter people to walk in about 30 minutes, or it is just a few minutes' drive to the town with its shops and restaurants. The historic city of Siena was also easy to reach by hire car for a day-trip. The villa is in a quiet and peaceful setting, but doesn't feel too isolated; it has views of vineyards and the town, whilst San Gimignano itself offers spectacular panoramas of the Tuscan countryside.

We loved staying at Villa Panizzi. Having air conditioning throughout the main house was a huge bonus during a heat wave. The weak wifi connectability and poor telephone signal did provide a problem for some of the party who needed to fit in some work, however. The host suggested this was being looked into, but a best possible solution needs to be found (though the natural terrain/local connectability would be outside their control). A house-guide to how to deal with rubbish/recycling would have been helpful, as well as some additional kitchen equipment and some 'essential' kitchen staples - eg salt/pepper/olive oil/kitchen foil etc, which we ended up providing and leaving at the property.

The size of the property is good but it's all looking a bit tired. Kitchen is small and everything in the kitchen could do with replacing. The pool area could do with a good clean. There are no basic supplies in the kitchen you need to buy everything when you get there, including salt & pepper!!

Villa was beautiful. However, listing should specifically say need a car. All the taxi's were booked so we needed to rely on tours we booked and a lovely restaurant that actually picked us up. If you need consistent wifi this is not the place for you.

5/5 perfect stay. This is a truly lovely villa that far exceeded our expectations. Beautiful and very spacious accommodation. Outside space was fabulous. The pool was lovely. It’s one of those rare places where it is even better in real life than in the photos. It is out of the way but a 25min walk (up and down small roads and hills) into San Gimignano. Just stay here, you absolutely won’t regret it.

Location was fabulous - to San Gimignano and many other parts of Tuscany, however ,there were little things that let it down.

Great house, location, everything. Could have used directions on the heat and hot water but the property manager was all over it. I think we were the first of the season. No paper towels or sugar. We would definitely return.

Lots of space to spread out and different eating areas. Pool was lovely. A good base for sightseeing and a short hop into San gimignano for an aperitif.

Great location. Calm, peaceful but close enough to the town. Villa was the best we have ever stayed in (6 trips to Tuscany). Pool was kept clean and the owners were welcoming. We would stay again.
